I was discussing the event of the 6th with someone who thinks I'm crazy for thinking there could possibly be more than meets the eye to the events of the 6th, and this person used the beating of a Capitol Police officer as evidence that it was just a bunch of idiot MAGAs who made everybody look bad and gave the gubment an excuse to spy on everybody more.
I know the video he's referring to which has been a favorite among the propaganda outlets but it's never sat right with me. The identity of the individual as far as I can tell hasn't been released and there was no information on his injuries or anything. Some stories have that individual pinpointed as Brain Sicknick who later died from "injuries" sustained during the "horrific acts of terror perpetrated on the seat of democracy", while other stories make no mention of how Sicknick got his injuries.
Like many things that happened that day, the beating of the police officer has never sat well with me. It just doesn't make sense that a bunch of MAGAs would decide to beat a police officer to death. Can anyone shed any light on this?
I was there. It was Antifa that pulled him into the crowd. Antifa was there at the Capitol before Trump finished his speech so they were already up front at the door by the time Trump supporters got there.
When the cop was pulled out into the crowd, at first, everyone cheered and then when he started getting his ass kicked, Trump supporters began chanting to let him go and he was pushed back up to the door and tossed back in.

But of course, in this discussion I was having I was just "reaching for whoever I could blame but ourselves". It's eternally frustrating talking to them. Were you guys able to out any of the ANTIFA members and kick them out of the crowd? And do you think it was Sicknick who they were beating up or was it impossible to tell?
I’m sure there were some Trump supporters up there. On the walk over, news broke that Pence had betrayed us and the mood turned somewhat. Trump supporters were rightfully pissed and Antifa AP’s were there pumping everyone up to get violent.
There is video of Trump supporters spotting Antifa in the crowd. One had a truncheon that he was using to break the window and someone yelled that they were Antifa and a Trumpster grabbed him and pulled him away from the window and two more Antifa grabbed their guy and pulled him loose. I’m not sure where they went because it was so crowded, chaotic and there was smoke everywhere from the tear gas.
I’m positive that was Sicknick and it’s very possible he was struck with a fire extinguisher. People up front were being supplied with bats, bear spray, gas masks, shields, crutches and even a fucking giant ladder, that they were using to attack the cops at the door. Some of those supplies came from inside the Capitol through the broken window, others were crowdsurfed to the front.
