I was discussing the event of the 6th with someone who thinks I'm crazy for thinking there could possibly be more than meets the eye to the events of the 6th, and this person used the beating of a Capitol Police officer as evidence that it was just a bunch of idiot MAGAs who made everybody look bad and gave the gubment an excuse to spy on everybody more.

I know the video he's referring to which has been a favorite among the propaganda outlets but it's never sat right with me. The identity of the individual as far as I can tell hasn't been released and there was no information on his injuries or anything. Some stories have that individual pinpointed as Brain Sicknick who later died from "injuries" sustained during the "horrific acts of terror perpetrated on the seat of democracy", while other stories make no mention of how Sicknick got his injuries.

Like many things that happened that day, the beating of the police officer has never sat well with me. It just doesn't make sense that a bunch of MAGAs would decide to beat a police officer to death. Can anyone shed any light on this?
