Does being too lazy to eat count?

Haha - thank you! The other night, I kept putting off fixing dinner, even though I was hungry, and finally just went to bed without it : )

Is it just a 24 hour? Like 8am to 8am or something? And actually a lot of bio hackers are into this. Supposedly a 3 day fast resets your whole immune system. Some even say long fasts can help kill cancer by starting the cells of nutrients. Idk but I may try it out!

It's helps with my crohn's. Plus everything tastes better when you do finally eat

Doctor Jason Fung runs a facility that monitors you during a 21 water-only fast and is well known for helping people completely get rid of type 2 diabetes with this program.

I will to. Yeah, was disgusted at the gold hack. But looked up more fasting, ate bread and water yesterday, will do so tomorrow. Prayed really hard. Good luck to you.

Not religious but I have crohns lol. Fasting is great for the digestive tract I try to do intermittent fasting every day I eat a small meal around 3 and then have dinner before 8

Catholics used to fast every Friday.

I regularly intermittently fast in the times between meals. It helps to maintain appetite and moderate caloric intake.

I do intermittent fasting Tuesday-Friday. On those days I stop eating at 6 pm and don't start eating until 12 noon the next day These are 18-hour fasts some people are more comfortable with 16 hours fasts and stop eating at 8pm. Then Friday and Saturday I eat whenever and on Sunday night I stop at Midnight and don't eat again until noon on Tuesday (a 36 hour fast) Once a month I may do a 48 hour fast or longer. Some people say a 72 hour fast is the ultimate reset for your gut.

Good luck in your fasting. Drink lots of water tea and even put some Apple Cider Vinegar in your water to help with cravings for food.

I also did 23-hour fasts (OMAD) for a while and I think I got my best results from that. A longer fast like 36 is super helpful and not that hard to do. Stop eating at Midnight. Go the whole night day without and then on the third day start eating at noon. Surprisingly this gets to be very easy the more you do it. I am striving for once a week on this for the whole year if possible.

I will!

He got it from the Didache, the early Chrisitan "catechism" of sorts.

http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/didache.html

I don't know where he got that it's ok to eat bread, but it makes sense to me. Not a cleansing fast, but a humility fast.

Eat bread alone (can have butter) on Wednesdays and Fridays. The idea is to avoid any food that is pleasurable, not starve.

Technically, first century Christians would've followed the schedule of the Jews. Meaning that the day began at sun-down, and ende at sun-down. (A practice with its roots in Genesis: "morning and evening, the first day", etc.)

So Tuesday at sun-down to Wednesday at sun-down, I'm fasting. I'll have bread & butter, water & coffee. I'll do it again from Thursday at Sun-down to Friday at sun-down.

Friday at sun-down begins the Sabbath, which lasts until Saturday at sun-down.

It gets really interesting when you connect with the Jewish calendar and the prophetic feasts. These aren't "Jewish" feasts, they are the "appointed times", the feasts of the Lord.

Maranatha!
