And if you can't or won't cut the cable, double check that you aren't paying for channels you don't use. My mother just got a $33 "annual" increase in her bill, but was able to remove channels she didn't even know she was getting and now her bill is less than before the increase.
Also, complain to your city council about your cable provider. If they're granted a monopoly to operate in your city, the city council is the only entity that has even the slightest leverage over them.
A lot of cable companies will not allow you to remove certain channels. They are bulk deals and even if you have them removed you are usually still paying for them.
I was surprised there were channels she could remove too. All I can remember from the conversation was that the channels were in the range above 500 and one of them was Starz.
I cut it about 2013 too. I remember watching TV shows back in the day and commercials were there to rush around and get things done: take out the trash, brush teeth, vacuum, put clothes away, etc. My kids sat and watched commercials as enraptured as they were with the insanely stupid shows they were watching (I remember, The Suite Life On Deck on Nickelodeon being especially retarded). Talked to my wife, shut off TV service, put on my eye patch and re-engaged my news-group accounts. I have since stopped the news-groups, but I have still not paid for YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, or any of the other commie sh!t services.
If you still have cable shut it off asap. Feels good man.

Comcast lets you remove channels of your choice?
It's worth asking. This was with Suddenlink, which is who the big players sell their dying cable systems to.
thx
Cut the cord in 2013, never even missed it.
I was late to the party, just cut it last year. They offered nothing but garbage, not sure what took me so long. Definitely not missed.
2005! Although I used Netflix for a few years, but was able to cancel when laundered the $ to Obama.
Yeah. Haven't had cable or satellite in years but I had Netflix until the blm bs. Cancelled and haven't missed it at all.

I just canceled my tv package with Verizon last night. Went from $135 to $75 for 1 Gig Fios internet only.
I cut Directv and told the young lady why when she offered me every incentive possible to stay. It feels so good. Cut Amazon Prime too.
