I've been watching Monkey Werx' analysis for several months now... which gives me enough knowledge and context to get myself in trouble, I guess.
The last time there were huge numbers like this was right after the election, and it was heavily weighted towards trainers. A huge blob of trainers was up for day in and day out right in the center of the country. Those blobs are not visible here - particular the one that persisted for quite some time in north Texas.
This is very different from the previous 1000+ planes activity days.
OTOH we might have had heavy fighter activity for a while, and just now they're all turning on their transponders. Kind of a "we may be politically unstable at the moment but if you think you can fuck with us you are badly mistaken" signal. Remember all this stuff is visible to the enemy too.
What in the absolute fuck is going on with all that traffic on the east coast and CA though??!
We’ve had multiple submarine hunters up in the air where I live, they literally fly over my house on their way to the Puget Sound (though sometimes I watch their flight paths and think they may be watching for something in the rivers here in the Puget Sound region as well)
