lol wut. The USAF alone has 3000+ active aircraft. Not to mention the Navy, Marines, USCG, DHS, DoE, Army, etc. We have more aircraft than nearly every other country COMBINED
My little brother is an E-8 USAF and says we have less than 1000 planes ready to fly in US. Sure we have a certain number, but many planes are brokedown and there is a pilot shortage.

You are counting deployed units outside US also.

Most of our stuff is home now. Certainly not all, given all our bases. But 1000 planes in just the USAF is a ton.
