Finally yippee! We have been evacuated 4 times over the pasts 3 years. More homes lost, more lives ruined because of urban wildfires. I can't wait to move away from here.
The last fire was stopped 50 yards from our house! We back up to Annadel State Park and that started to go up! The only good part was watching those big helicopters swoop in at rodeo freaking speed and put it out. They were so low I got literally rained on by a water bucket! They were seriously hauling ass, the water buckets were horizontal under the choppers! Everyone was out in their yards screaming and cheering. They saved our homes.
Thanks it's quite nerve wracking believe me. Last September we and our neighbors were standing on our porches watching a 100 foot wall of flame head down the hill towards our homes. This was at midnight, then our phones all alerted us to evacuate..................again.
Luckily my BIL has a ranch about 20 miles south of us we always head to.
