Whenever I do eventually get social security I expect a return at least equal to inflation so that the amount invested is equal to what was taken.....otherwise I think the government is open to a massive lawsuit for stealing our money for some ponzi scheme
The next largest fund is the CALPERS fund (which is one of the largest entities on the stock market) for California Employees Retirement. They got bailed out a few years back and are now still near insolvency. Starting out as an investment officer at Calpers pays around 120k and the high level guys make up to 350k. Why are we paying such high salaries for a investment government branch that loses money on investments? Running a ponzi scheme here would save California money actually.
