The Republican establishment thinks they can kill Trump’s populist movement and shake it off before 2022/2024. This is the same backlash by elites against populism that we’ve seen over and over again through decades in this country. This time, the movement was so powerful and so overwhelming that they had to deploy downright desperate tactics to suppress all of our voices and make us appear an ostracized, small group of “extremists.” I left the Republican party this week, and they’ll probably never see me again. Good riddance.
