I am not trying to get on the hopium train, but it could be what Trump is waiting for. . . for Biden to be "officially" sworn in, for the coup to be complete. Sure, then Trump is no longer "officially" President, but the military can still step in and deal with the real insurrectionists given proof, even if that proof comes six months from now.

After law and order is restored, then a new election can be conducted and Trump re-elected. . . .assuming the impeachment doesn't go through or is nullified after the fact.
