Because there is no proof that he did anything wrong. In a court of law, the judge will throw his shoe at their face, if they tried Trump for inciting ppl to violence. There is no proof.

Which is why they are not pressing criminal charges against him, they are doing a political circus of impeachment.

Because he's still in office...they might try to charge him when he leaves office.

  1. His office does not give him immunity from criminal prosecution, afaik.'
  2. As far as they are concerned, he will anyways be out of office in a day or two and then he can be prosecuted so they don't need to impeach him in order to try him in a criminal court.

It's DOJ policy not to indict a sitting President. Alleged crimes are to be addressed through Congress according to the Constitution. It doesn't prohibit him from being indicted, but it is unprecedented.
