Lol I guess you never served. We are okay sleeping anywhere. I literally slept in a hole in the ground in Iraq for a year it's okay. They have a roof over their head and hot food everything will be fine

This is how they're trained and what they're expected to do in the field.
I wouldn't expect them to sleep in nearby hotels. There isn't exactly space for them to setup camp outside. Sure, they probably could move 7500 cots in, but somehow I doubt the National Guard has that many ready to go for relatively short term deployments like this.
The bad thing about the national guard though is they are definitely not equipped well for anything and always need big daddy army to help supply efforts during an emergency

My second deployment we slept on “bunk beds” which were literally just a couple 2x4s bolted into a mud hut with a sheet of particle board nailed on.
And it was comfortable as hell.

Bed, no. Dirt, mud, snow, sometimes concrete. Not in order of my preference though.
