This sounds off topic, but consider car dealers. My father always considered himself a great haggler (and he was better than most). But the reality is he bought a car once every couple of years.
A single salesman sells cars SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. He's always going to have the upper hand just by the numbers (not to mention the decades of programs and bla bla bla).
Same goes for lawyers, cops - the whole smash. They do this DAILY. They know how to do it - and they are often quite good at it.
