I believe in many places yes, because political affiliation isn't a protected class such as religion or race.

However, it is very against American principals to do this. Companies should NOT force a certain lifestyle or beliefs on its employees that it expects them to carry out in their personal life. Also, companies should not be held accountable for the actions of employees during off duty times. Two way street and the mobs often beat up the companies for the behaviors of employees. Neither should happen. The independence of each should be respected.

I agree... but when you have shit going on, like being put on a no fly list because you’re guilty by association (not me) then I can only assume that this will trickle into employee relations as well

depends on state, how long you've been with the employer if in a right to work state, and if the owner is a communist.

My job is not threatened... I work in Texas, and corporate is based in a very liberal city... I think the people I report to are closet republicans though (being in TX). I just don’t want to do something “stupid” and have my long time job on the line
