I mean we already had more than enough evidence. If you make a mountain one foot taller, you've made a mountain one foot taller.

The Appalachians used to be taller than the Himalayas millions of years ago

The Himalayas grow about an inch a year while the Appalachians erode

Now the Himalayas are the tallest mountains and the Appalachians are practically hills in comparison

My point is adding to a mountain or taking away from it might not do much now, but keep at it for a long enough time and you might get interesting results
