Ever since the riots last year, I send my girlfriend out with a light backup piece when she takes the dog for a run. Before that she always carried a neck-knife. But I told her, if violence finds her now, it will be in multiples and "a knife won't cut it."
But you have to understand, things were the most normal for them and for the longest period of time. Back in their day, people resigned for fucking up or at least the appearance that you fucked up. Things have changed considerably for them and the elderly that do realize this are under the most shock because of what they are seeing now.

This is true. Despite the incredible societal shift we've seen over the last few decades, boomers still act like its the same world the grew up in.
