Even then I think it would be really hard for them to attack in 6 months. None of our subs are going to be combat ineffective from an atmospheric EMP blast, and lines of communication would be restored as quickly as possible. Communication can be as simple as Morse code if needed.
It would certainly be a heavy blow, but I don’t think it would be fatal.
I doubt China will be invading in the next few weeks, but we are rapidly approaching a fork in the road of war with China or allowing China to take over the world. I think we will reach this fork during Biden/Harris’s term.
Just this past week SOS Pompeo planned a farewell visit to Taiwan. China then said if the US SOS visited Taiwan there would be war. Pompeo canceled his trip to Taiwan. China has been training to storm the beaches of Taiwan the last few years. I’m pretty confident they will invade Taiwan within the next couple years and we will either respond with force or allow China to take over a country we have promised to defend since Reagan was president.
China has been pushing on India hard. They’ve already had small battles on their border. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if China uses Taiwan to test the waters to see the US response. If we let that go they’ll invade India a couple years later.

How many troops would it take to move from BC Canada into WA state?
WA has multiple army brigades at Ft. Lewis with tanks, artillery, and aircraft. You have multiple navy bases. You have a marine installation. You have two air force bases. You have a national guard.
It would probably take 50k+ troops to take Seattle and that’s assuming you have your own combat vehicles and air support. You won’t have either of those. This also assumes one of the Ohio’s in Bremerton doesn’t just nuke you as you prepare to cross the border.
An invading army will have little vehicle support other than that which they can steal. How many days of food and ammo can you carry? Ok, so you can steal food locally. What about ammo? Medical supplies? Fuel?
What do you use for communications? Most man portable radios don’t have the greatest range and there are some very skilled signal units at Ft. Lewis which will decrypt your comms within a day.
Say you bipass WA and invade Idaho instead. You still have at least one airbase really close in WA.
Any large troop movements are getting blasted as soon as they are spotted. And small troop movements will be severely limited in what they can accomplish.
So what’s your target? Realistically you may be able to hide a few isolated companies of troops (probably split into platoons and separated from each other). You have no air support, no tanks, no artillery, few vehicles, few heavy machine guns, and only enough food, ammo, and fuel as you can carry with you.
If nothing else this brings me some comfort lol.
