Impeaching after he leaves office will have no value.

It will have value - personal grievance + removal of secret service protection + after impeachment they can vote to bar him from running for office again

It's unconstitutional and would set a terrible precedent that even the most braindead liberal could admit would make the country look no more free than Uganda.

If you can impeach a private citizen that used to be POTUS, you can impeach ANY private citizen, and that's an incredibly scary thought, arbitrarily removing dissidents from either party's pool of viable candidates for an election.

This should be a clear cut abuse of power case if they ever proceeded to do it.

If that precedent is set then there are a few former presidents that need to be impeached as well.

They've already set the precedent that impeachment and the commission of crimes are not linked in any way, as well as the precedent that Democrats are never held accountable for their misdeeds. This new "impeach whoever the hell we want" precedent wouldn't supersede those.
