If you call that merely "circumstantial" that a mother doesn't ask where her 2 year old daughter is weeks after she's gone missing, and she's somehow innocent, then I don't know what to say.
While that speaks to her character, that isn't evidence that there was a murder. It doesn't matter how much we feel she did it, we have to have the evidence to convict. And that is the only way a free country can exist.

Not reporting your own daughter is missing, for WEEKS, is evidence beyond reasonable doubt that you were complicit in her murder. Not to mention the dead body found just down the street, the rank of decomposition in the trunk of your car, the absence of any grief, etc.
