Since when are News outlets considered primary sources? Doesn't say much about the NY Post if they don't know the definition of a primary source. Archives, photographs, audio recordings, video recordings, journals, letters, diaries speeches, oral histories, speeches, and etc, are what I was taught to be primary sources. All else is hearsay.

Deleted my post after seeing yours. Here is what I wrote:

In what universe are these regarded as "primary" sources in the first place. Documents, videos, transcripts of speeches, testimony of eyewitnesses, persona recounts of individuals regarding their actions [recognizing that memories are faulty] are primary sources.

Thucydides already knew this in the 5th century BC and depended on two witnesses for all events he recorded.
