I enjoyed listening to him but I had to take a break. His “simultaneous sip” ritual started driving me nuts—both the phrase & the sound. Tried skipping over that part, but he doesn’t always do it in the very beginning, so sometimes it’s a pain in the ass to locate. Also, the physical act of skipping over it means that I’m both looking for it & avoiding it. It means I’m thinking about it. But prior to developing that repulsion, I listened to Scott a couple times a week for maybe a year or so, and it didn’t bother me at all. Didn’t even think much of it. Also never participated. I did think of it as cheesy, but whatever. One day, though, I was just like, holy shit is that annoying, and holy shit is that slurping gross. Sad!
