I have experience in E-commerce as well as other industries as a software engineer. I would like to start a new Amazon for made in America, but it would likely have to start out much more simplistic. Any pedes have experience with vetting products/companies for MIA or any other relevant experience?

I'm a little worried about how Amazon always had to operate at a loss, and we wouldn't have dark money to keep us afloat. The premiums for American made goods on top of that may sink this ship. But maybe not, I have some ideas.

Also happy to help with other pedes' ambitions if my experience may seem relevant.

You need to message u/i_no_asshoe about his/her startup https://switch2usmade.com/. Browser extension that searches Amazon for US-made versions of products you’re shopping for.

Ecommerce pede here. Logistics businesses run effectively on low margin (so it appears - maybe circulating the revenue into needed area, so less to spare at the end -- operating costs?). amazon gets by with supply chain and postage rates. You'd need to establish an effective courier service at low cost!
