100% Fuck Amazon. Saving a couple of bucks is not worth giving power to that Freak. The plan is after he puts everything out of Business he’s going to start black listing who can buy if you don’t bow down to their Beliefs . Mark of the beast to buy food .

If you really want to stick it to Amazon, here's a new tech company to check out. It's a startup called www.Switch2USmade.com.

It makes buying American products so easy. You shop, they automatically find the US made version of the product you pick and then you choose if you want to buy the US made version. Genius!

Hijacking to tell people use alternatives like midway USA and gander mountain. I love midway because it's got all that kinda gear I normally like to buy and it's totally pro second amendment. Besides the shipping is just as fast, and usually free when you spend like 50$ I think. Return policy is so easy and no hassle. Highly recommend them

I've been buying $1 items off of Amazon Warehouse deals and than returning them. I know it costs them a bunch every time I order something. Will continue to do so until my Prime membership expires or they kick me off. Also send orders back and forth to different addresses so they can't combine ship.

Populist_Leader 27 points ago +27 / -0

Remember to order products only if it’s directly from Amazon. There’s small businesses that use amazon’s platform and might get hurt by paying for returns

7
I_lost_my_password 7 points ago +8 / -1

I believe all Amazon Warehouse deals are sold by Amazon.

10
Vermino 10 points ago +11 / -1

I love this strategy.

7
Sir_Girth 7 points ago +7 / -0

Just them having to hold onto that inventory is expensive. That’s why they’re selling it for cheap. They need to get rid of it to keep their inventory costs down. This takes it a step further. Good plan! Well done!

5
dicksinchecksin 5 points ago +6 / -1

If you think the couple of bucks you're making amazon spend on your returns is even remotely comparable to the time it takes you to buy and return everything, then you're either an idiot or you have way too much time on your hands.

Longtime lurker here, your comment was so dumb it made me finally make an account.

2
I_lost_my_password 2 points ago +3 / -1

Meh, takes me no time. I'm a member of a website that scrapes Amazon for Warehouse Deals and all I have to do is set the parameters once and it's lists everything meeting the criteria I specify automatically. Returns are even easier. Click a couple buttons and done. Total of maybe 3-4 minutes all in per transaction I do. It is not like I am going to go and physically attack a distribution center or delivery van. This is just a way to help fuck with them.

Technically Amazon prime doesn't make $. It barely breaks even.

Amazons main source of income is AWS

3
MrN1c3guy 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah, they're basically a cloud computing company with a big-ass gift shop out front.

But that doesn't stop us from using the gift shop to further inconvenience them. I ordered a couple Christmas presents from Amazon and got the 30-day free Prime trial. I was also given a gift card over Christmas. As of 2 weeks ago, I was seriously considering keeping the Prime sub.

Last night I used the last of the gift card to order some 3D printer filament, and killed the Prime Trial.

Once the filament arrives this weekend, I plan on printing an AR receiver.

Amazon makes a lot from AWS, but their big spike in 2020 during corona seemed to be due to an increase in shopper purchases

1
bays2023 1 point ago +1 / -0

While true, one must consider the effect of buying from Amazon instead of another vendor. So while, Amazon may be getting little to no profit, its competitors are hurt more.

crumbhole 20 points ago +20 / -0

cancelled them weeks ago. i like to go on there and shop though, read reviews, etc. then go somewhere else to buy. i know they're tracking me so it makes it fun!

10
lccdr [S] 10 points ago +10 / -0

Yeah, use them for reviews and buy local if possible - win/win!

3
IwantmyCountryback 3 points ago +3 / -0

I do the same and then look on eBay for qualified sellers, not Amazon shippers.

0
DebbieinDallas 0 points ago +1 / -1

I find ebay so much easier to deal with than amazon. Same stuff, usually cheaper, free shipping

1
IwantmyCountryback 1 point ago +1 / -0

Exactly

90% of the time the reviews are fake now. The entrepreneurs know how to game them now.

Same here, I pretty much only buy a pair of cheap but crazy good ear buds from there once a year but nothing else, only use them for reviews.

The last thing I bought from there was some sweatpants that fit like they where made in China...oh wait.

14
Glue_sniffer1000 14 points ago +15 / -1

Amazon is garbage. Mostly the exact same Chinese junk listed multiple times under different names and descriptions. Very disorganized. I wasn't buying enough crap or watching enough shitty old movies to make prime worth it. The last straw was commercials cut into some of the few remaining basic prime titles. Purchased all Christmas gifts from brick and mortar stores. Cancelled a month ago and haven't missed it so far

11
good_entity 11 points ago +11 / -0

I cancelled. I'm going to trash my alexa's too. Now I have to physically turn on my lights :(

It’s so easy. Just do it. You lived without Amazon and never missed it. Getting all those packages all the time is gay anyway. It’s like some mom that will never leave her house and gets all her groceries delivered. “Oh look here is my refill of Swiffer brand maxi pads beep beep fzzzt.”

6
CelticSkull 6 points ago +6 / -0

My Prime account stops on the 20th. In the why are you cancelling part I put... Because Bezos is a commie piece of S***!

6
JoeTrump 6 points ago +6 / -0

Just Wait until they report 1st Quarter 2021 financials... Amazon will drop 60%+++ from its highs. Keep Cancelling Prime and STOP Buying anything from them for 90 Days+++ at least. You don't need to buy from them... they don't make any of that shit... you can find it elsewhere.

Also... Disconnect the spy in your house... ALEXA!!!!! Terminate the Cunt!

This is going to be hard. Amazon is awesome. Excellent website. Tons of reviews. Best price. Click on something and I have it in 2 days every time.

I get it that Jeff Bezos is a non-fren. I get it that we should buy local.

there is no comfortable or convenient method of changing the world. any accomplishment of value is difficult.

17
lccdr [S] 17 points ago +17 / -0

Yes it's difficult. Try to imagine what America will be like in 10 years if we don't change our behavior. That's what motivates me.

1
SirPokeSmottington 1 point ago +1 / -0

Tons of reviews.

Super-majority of reviews are fakes from Chinese farms.

1
Lapstrake 1 point ago +1 / -0

All you need to do to avoid fake reviews is only look at 3 and 4 star reviews. Bots will either do 5 stars or 1 star.

5

Prime, prime video, Amazon music, kindle, audible. All removed from my phone and cancelled. I bought a bunch of music on Amazon music and now can't even access it because I cancelled all my subscriptions which sucks, but ill get over it. I'm sick of the power they have over us.

If Parler gets their TRO, it shows the judge thinks the case has merits, if it goes to a jury trial I suspect Parler will win bigly in a record breaking payout.

Especially after more evidence has come out that Parler was not used to organize the Capital tour and it was instigated by leftist activists.

5
Superpeded 5 points ago +6 / -1

Nobody should be paying for Amazon Prime. If you do you are basically giving Amazon money so that they don’t have to be competitive. You are paying them to fuck you!

4
johnbush 4 points ago +4 / -0

AMZN has been playing this range for a while now. 3080 - 3200. That's how markets move. Goes up, then sell off, and then buy up. People will likely buy today's low or wait until it's a bit lower. to 3080.

1
lccdr [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Markets also move on the perceived value of a company. Less sales -> lower company health metrics -> lower value as interpreted by investors.

3
SirPokeSmottington 3 points ago +3 / -0

Right, but you're wrong... They are down 4%. Boycott is not "working". You are looking at post-Christmas correction.

1
lccdr [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

The truth is it's impossible to know for certain why magic money number goes up or down. All anyone can do is observe trends and patterns and make educated guesses. We don't have a baseline world where Amazon didn't side with BLM or cancel Parler for comparison. Regardless, boycotts do work, if enough people participate

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
2
johnbush 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sure, that might be true but AMZN was already playing this range since JULY... There's bigger factors to attribute a re-tracement in stock price than Amazon shutting servers down for Parler. Option activity, Q4 coming up, and plus, it's Friday. Nobody is bag-holding over the weekend. It's either going to breakdown from 3080 or moon to 3500+. Might be a good time to take a Risk to gamble and Buy Call options to possibly 50x your investment (or lose it).

1
johnbush 1 point ago +1 / -0

There's the Move that was expected. AMZN 3276 today.

1
lccdr [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Don't know what you're trying to prove. I'm aware that stocks fluctuate

1
johnbush 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm trying to prove my point about the range...

It dropped down to 3100 and shot up to 3276. And if you were aware of price movements then you wouldn't have posted what you posted.

Buy physical. Support your local bookstore. I say the same for music and record stores.

I would search the title or ISBN on DuckDuckGo to find a seller.

There are also a lot of free books on Project Gutenberg.

2

If you have a Texas Driver's License you can get a free Houston Public Library card. You get digital books and audio books. https://houstonlibrary.org/my-link-library-card-registration Other states have similar free library cards or you can pay to access Houston if you live in another state.

2
MrN1c3guy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Anyone who already bought a bunch of Kindle books, look up Calibre. It's an open-source ebook manager/reader that has a plugin that will strip out Amazon's DRM.

I am an online shopaholic and I very rarely return items. I just returned $350 worth of stuff I bought in the recent months. I need to return maybe another $200 of items today. Will spend sometime this weekend to find even more items to return. Let’s all do this until Amazon kicks us out.

3
Italianshamrock 3 points ago +3 / -0

Just did yesterday. Feels good!

3
sacrebleu 3 points ago +3 / -0

Your unsubscribing has little impact. Amazon do not make much of profit from selling things on their website. Their main source of revenue is their cloud services. You know, the thing Parler had been using.

1
lccdr [S] 1 point ago +2 / -1

I don't agree - Amazon stock did great last year, because of people coronashopping, all that growth wasn't from AWS.

5
sacrebleu 5 points ago +5 / -0

Maybe you are right. I had watched a YouTube (pseudo-documentary-like) video about Amazon's dirty history of crushing competitions, and I think I heard the narrator saying that Amazon was not making money from the sales on the website like books, etc, but making money by using the influences and the cloud services.

But when I did a quick Google search today, it seems that the cloud services consists only 50% of the profit (2019), so maybe they do make a lot of money by selling stuffs, especially after the lockdowns...

I wish there was an online book retailer alternative. I never buy books from Amazon anymore, and haven't for years, because I have never received a book from them that wasn't damaged in some way. Last book I ordered was Washington's Immortals, and I returned a damaged version 5 (yes, 5!!!) times before giving up on it.

So what's the alternative? Barnes & Noble? That's who I've used for years, but they really pissed me off this election cycle. First, within minutes of Kamala being confirmed as VP choice, I received a celebratory email from B&N recommending her book and rejoicing at the announcement. Later, they sent an email with suggested books for the election year, which consisted of ridiculous pro-Biden books, social justice books, and a host of anti-Trump books. Some books which were selling at top 5 at the time, such as Bongino's Follow the Money, were completely left off the list. Not a single pro-Conservative or anti-Biden book was suggested, despite many of them selling well at the time. Pure propaganda by way of only suggesting one side of the argument, same as Twitter & Facebook.

So, they question remains. Is there an online book retailer that actually loves America?

2
Charkoth 2 points ago +2 / -0

I did it the moment I heard Amazon deplatformed Parler.

Good news! Amazon Prime recently credited your account. Here are the details:

Amazon Prime

Tuesday, January 12, 2021

+$117.42

Ever since Covid their bullshit "Prime" deliveries failed to meet their 2 day promise that it was supposed to yet they think they could keep the price the same? People are stupid for trusting Amazon's rigged Chinese bribe review system to chose what they buy - I almost always find the same products cheaper elsewhere unless it's one of those randomized Chinese brand names. Fuck Amazon and their CCP overlords.

It also helps a ton if you go into your brokerages and 401k's and dump anything that's invested in AMZN. I'm in tons of funds that are doing fantastic and don't hold giant piles of AMZN, Twitter, FB, or Goolag.
