I'm playing devil's advocate here: how do you know "we did it" means they're referring to inciting violence?

Journalists (and "journalists") try to get in on whatever action there is, might they just be saying they got in with the crowd therefore they're going to get great footage?

I know she did the interview with John Sullivan later so it's clear to me they were working together, but this video wouldn't stand up in court as we don't have the context for "we did it".
