It depends on the state. Virginia, for example, is a right to work state. Unless you are part of a protected class then they can fire you for any reason.

Spez: For those that don't understand.

  • They can't fire you for being gay.
  • They can fire you for being a Trump supporter but will have to pay you unemployment.
  • They can fire you for being a Trump supporter after you to tell them to "shove it up their cucked ass", and you WON'T get unemployment.
  • They can fire you for being a Trump supporter after you to tell them to "shove it up their cucked ass" and punch them in their cucked face, and you WON'T get unemployment AND be arrested.
