Google makes nothing if you find out a small business down the street sells the same thing as Amazon without shipping. For example, search for an item you would otherwise buy on Amazon, click "Available Nearby" and you might find a local hardware store instead of Walmart or other marxist corporations.
And yes, Brave/uBlock will eliminate Google's ads.
But people pay google advertising fees on the basis of the eyes on their pages.
If you aren't blocking ads, you aren't doing the Internet right. Download Brave browser, and use the uBlock addon.

I use startpage as my search engine. Works well enough for me. I used to use DuckDuckGo but their algorithms sucked
