There's no mandates keeping churches closed in my area. Yet it seems only the Baptist Church is even open. A depressing amount of Christians seem to be self-oppressing themselves.
Many years ago I would’ve laughed, and said who knew the church of Satan was right!? It just seemed logical to me: “Church isn’t needed for anyone, you won’t die without it, and the women at the sex club need to work, why make it harder on them?”
The idea of government overreach didn’t even register as a thought in my head. Religious people? Didn’t hate ‘em, but they were religious, listen, just stay home for a while, you’re not gonna die, you can pray anywhere. Now, with a little more age, fractionally more wisdom, a lot more historical context, and a lot less judgement, I’m like “Um... this is fucked up. We have laws, why are you applying them one way towards one group of people and another to a different group? Does the government even have the power to shut down churches? What the fuck is going on?”
