A lot of people have asked what becomes of The Donald in a post-Trump Presidency world. Thankfully, the tyrants have made that answer clear.

We're all that's left.

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Shopify, Parler, etc etc etc. All have either pulled the trigger on banning the truth, or had the trigger pulled on them. Nevertheless, We Persisted.

Thanks to being forged by the fires of Nimbly Navigating a hostile internet, we're still here, and still able to spread the truth. That's our purpose. It always has been, but now more than ever, it seems we're among the last bastions.

It's time to look out for free speech as a whole, though. Even beyond politics, words, thoughts, truth is censored. We can fight back by branching out and building a larger Community on the internet. A community that promotes free speech, with a place for everyone, even those we might disagree with.

Communities.win

It's time we expand, grow the number of Communities, the topics covered, and eventually allow user-created communities. Win is launching a list of apolitical communities today:

c/general

c/funny

c/animals

c/sports

c/gaming

c/positive

c/health

c/diy

c/privacy

Sometimes you need an escape from politics, and as it stands the only real places to go for that escape simply don't provide it. Want to look at animals? Here's Don Jr hunting. Something funny? Orange Man Bad. Sports? NOOSE! And we all know what happens when you try to scroll through your Facebook or Twitter feed.

These communities will have strict no-politics rules, Left or Right. Just a place to go to take a break, have a laugh, or learn something about your interests. How the internet used to be, ya know?

Currently, posts from all of the above communities can also be found on the communities.win homepage. In the future we will allow customization of your homepage, to include or remove any communities you wish. At the moment the default will be only apolitical communities.

Beyond that, as we continue nimbly navigating through dark waters, the up to date backup url's are (Keep them bookmarked):

https://thedonaldbackup.com

https://communities.win/c /thedonald (active) (Minor formatting issue, will be resolved. Just take out the space.)

https://thedonald.space

We look forward to becoming a major player in internet freedom. Growing, improving, and red pilling people who see that there's an entirely other viewpoint that they've been totally censored from seeing.

Thank you all for everything. It's been an amazing SIX years, and I hope you all join me in looking forward to the next six, and beyond!

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

MAKE THE INTERNET GREAT AGAIN

Are there plans to de-centralize this website so it makes it harder to shutdown? Thinking multiple hosting providers, peer-to-peer backups, etc.

That would be a great idea. The Distributed Donald network.

We could host the website on the bitcoin SV blockchain. They're looking hard for use cases and this would be a good one.

You don't want social media stored on a blockchain.

Why? Security?

Because once posted, you can never delete what you posted yesterday night, drunk, at 3am.

The main problem is the sheer raw data. We would need an advance quantum data storage That can hold at least several Yottabytes worth of information since that stuff gets huge really fast.

Yeah no. I don't want my posts to be immutable and unable to be deleted for all of history.

They are not immutable. Just your identity is. Provided you have a solution for securing your original key. Such as blockchain.

What exactly is a blockchain?

What is a bitcoin SV? How would either of these help from being deplatformed?

Can someone explain like I’m...10 or so? ELI10?

I only understand it about as well as a 10 year old but I’ll give it a try.

A “block” is a record of transactions. Before the block is added to the chain, it is verified against a distributed ledger. Instead of a centralized ledger like say a bank, a distributed ledger would be like every customer at the bank having all the records.

For Win communities, this would mean that we aren’t centralized in one place that we depend on. The site itself would be distributed among all the users and if our server got wiped with a towel or something, the whole place remains in tact.

Don’t take this for gospel, like I said I’m a 10 year old. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Bitcoin SV? Makes no sense to use that instead of Ethereum.

Even some onion services as well.

The current gab is built on Mastodon I believe which gives it distrubution under a federated system. Would probably be a lot of work but my research into the platform does make it look pretty resilient to deplatforming efforts.

RonPaulWasRight 2 points ago +3 / -1

Gab is a fork of Mastodon, I think primarily for the UI. Their servers are all hosted in-house.

1
TheCandorist 1 point ago +1 / -0

They are hosted in house for their primary server but because Mastodon is a federation style platform anyone can technically run their own and grow the network. Unless they did something in their fork it would sound like anyone can stand up a gab node.

Can you explain this like I’m 5?

2
TheCandorist 2 points ago +2 / -0

Basically a decentralized system that lets you join like a federation of states. Unless Gab did some fuckery basically anyone can stand up their own gab servers as a node of Gab and in effect set and filter their own content. Again, not sure if Gab screwed with that part of things but in a standard Fediverse you can have a centralized center of nodes but shutting down a datacenter doesn't kill you.

Probably not a great analogy but think about like bit torrents. You can't get rid of the file by getting rid of one person. There are networks of people with the file in whole or in part.
