The MSM attacked Trump for calling the initial strain of COVID the China virus. (personally I thought the term Kung-Flu was hilarious!)

So now we have organisations and the MSM using the terms African virus, UK virus, Japanes virus, Brazil virus, etc.

Was it a lucky co-incidence, foresight, or knowledge when Trump first used the term.

Non-Sarcastic Time: You know the funny thing about the Spanish flu? Spain was the only country to really acknowledge it up front.

The Allied Forces and Central Powers were both suppressing news stories to prevent demoralization. Since Spain was one of the only nations to openly discuss the pandemic up front they became associated with the flu.

So -technically- Spanish Flu would actually be a candidate for a xenophobic phrase since the disease isn’t really of Spanish origin. China however is undoubtedly the originator of Covid so calling it a “Chinese virus” is an accurate descriptor.
