Many actually "sold" their properties by taking out home equity loans and then surrendering the properties to the banks, meaning nobody is paying those property taxes (the banks are exempt, of course). I always find these charts interesting. They never show the deaths in contrast to the "cases".
The Number of cases is obviously going to rise since testing has accelerated (drastically).
