There are all kinds of different things people think, but I'm just wondering if anything has been said officially. Unofficially, I'll say that 25k troops plus all the other stuff seems totally outrageous to "protect" an "inauguration" that is virtual and the public isn't even allowed to see in person. It seems to me if they were just trying to make a political statement or put on theater, they could do that just as well with 5k or less troops. CNN has been caught making a couple dozen people look like a big crowd.

It's the only way that any one will show up for the inauguration, they had to find an audience somewhere.
