Thank you for your eager condemnation without knowing much about the context of this entire situation nor my already existing reluctance to the situation. You are truly a kind and benevolent soul.
Good question. I've not seen them say anything about face shields - only masks. Face shields would be a bit annoying since it would fog up (which my glasses already do with the dumb masks), but I would much rather go with that for the sake of my health.
I would check into that - I've seen people that have worn them with glasses and no fogging.
I went to Costco and if you didn't have a mask (( tell them you can't wear one because of health )) they will give you a shield ((( free of charge ))))
In the meantime get out in the sun for 20 minutes a day - vitamin D and C
Don't smoke - don't drink and make sure you sleep enough.
As for a medical waiver - I don’t know a doctor that might be willing to supply one. Granted I also don’t know the process or grounds I could apply for one.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Hope your pneumonia isn’t serious, and that this experience has made you more reluctant to engage in faustian bargains in your future.

This is not really am answer to your question buy get a needle and poke holes in your mask. Can you take a year off?
I came back from taking a semester off already - not sure I could afford to take another. Not sure if poking holes would be effective or go unnoticed.
Will your school allow face shields instead?
