Most if not all countries have the same problem. Politicians are no more than paid actors for the official parties, which in turn are teams owned by the oligarchy. Speak out and you are banished, either with no portfolio or out of the party.
Most of the time, candidates are vetted well enough by the party that there is no discord. Once in a while, an elected member gets pissed off and rebels. I think Trump made it only because the party didn't actually expect Hillary to lose.
I see it all the time ... "wrong speak" or a politically incorrect comment or disagree with the premiere and you are out.
