You can use the DuckDuckGo SEARCH ENGINE on any browser, except Amazon's Silk. Its results are mostly from Bing... so if you have an issue with the search result quality, take it up with Microsoft.
If you dropped Firefox for "DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser", you dumped FF for a very limited, hacked-up version of Chrome with DuckDuckGo set as the default SEARCH ENGINE. (Plus a few settings to disable the worst privacy offenders)

I try to use Brave as much as I can, but there are some corp apps I use that just don't work right. I keep Firefox and Chrome around just for those one-offs.
I am a Brave user and was going to download its "descendant" Dissenter to try it out. However, the download page says "Windows 1.5.114, March 23 2020". Do you guys know how many versions of Brave have been released in the meantime? More than ten. It means lots of bugs and security issues fixed. Honestly, i just want a untampered SE. I I don't want to type White man and get tonnes of black men in my images search. Like i want to find what i ask it. Google used to do this. Now no SE does this.
Try startpage.com it's the most private search engine in the world and combined with Dissenters TOR incognito and VPN your virtually invisible on the webs. I've been using it for years with no hiccups or privacy concerns.

I'm just a bit pissed for when I want to find information on something that the narrative wants to lie about its hard with DDG and google. Such as simple covid facts.

I have been using Qwant the entire time. DuckDuckGo previously donated to far left groups in 2018. If you keep having problems, change to Qwant.
DuckDuckGo runs off of Microsoft Bing.

Try going thru the play store or YT app directly, I don't watch YT thru Brave, and that works for me. Might work for you.
Watch YT on Brave with no need to sign in.
Good tip! Can't decide if not being logged in or having to use the YT app is more annoying though
