Signal is an instant messaging app with full end-to-end encryption. It is used by notables in place of PGP such as Bruce Schneier, one of the most prominent cryptographers in our generation.

It works similarly to Messanger. If you and a friend both have Signal, you can text one another like you would a SMS.
If multiple people all use Signal you can form a group chat and even give it a chat name and icon image to better denote it from other group messages.
