I think in more innocent days I could understand why people thought it was cool. I still run into customers that use them because they feel slow at typing while texting friends.
There is a genuine desire out there for a Jetsons-like life where Rosie the Robot rolls in when you call for her. I get it. But the weird thing about wishing for Rosie the Robot is it seems to make people more frustrated with technology, not less.
In the meantime, it's fun harassing the cat with a roomba. I think that's the closest to the Jetsons I'll ever get. I know we won't ever have flying cars on a mass market since we can't trust people on the ground...
