Even in the small town I live in we had a conservative council candidate and business owner drop out of the race because leftists were sending him death threats and his home and vehicles were repeatedly vandalized. His wife couldn’t deal with the stress so he withdrew from the race. I have a couple of friends here who are politically active and they have had death threats and vandalism as well.
