I'm sorry guys, but this is a shitty idea. If the country itself continues to drift left, pulling shit like this will do nothing because the moment you reveal your true colors, you will be ousted and cancelled. Or, best case scenario, you manage to stay in office long enough to pass a couple conservative laws; so you force the leftist population to live conservatively for a while, but the propaganda machine ensures they hate it and attribute all successes to leftism.
