Update: I searched wikipedia and under 'Crimes against the state' I found that 'Treason, espionage and large-scale drug trafficking are all capital crimes under federal law,' though 'Since no one is on death row for such offenses, the court has yet to rule on the constitutionality of the death penalty applied for them.'
I think in the event of declassification of everything that the public would demand the death penalty, especially if Epstein is still alive - they'll want to make sure.
