The Edible bamboo is the prime type for this not because of producing seeds, but the sheer amount of leaves they produce, can be worked in construction(mainly wood), and the fact that there is a use for them on just about every stage.

Bamboo is absolutely a great way to address large numbers of issues on property and it is great for chickens as well while offering some decent raw materials.
