Once this common ground is established, it’s easy to work together to try and root out corruption.
We have to establish this basic principle in our society if we want to survive as a country (and the whole world, for that matter)

The leftists want government in control of the people, government replacing God. Conservatives want people free, in control of government.
The only common ground is the ground on which those two opposite ideologies battle.
The problem with Conservatives is many try to find a common ground - they want to get along, so they bend to the leftists. That's the only unity possible because the leftists demand it - unity behind the leftist cause.
