Alright, I hadn't seen this much info when I laughed at it before. I had seen it said that "he grabbed an energy bar, but it was reported he grabbed a crowbar" and wondered how something like that got fucked up. If this information was communicated to CNN via phone, or voice in general, I can actually see how this could innocuously happen.

Somebody says, "he grabbed a ProBar before leaving," but it was heard as "he grabbed crowbar before leaving." Maybe this is an innocent mistake. Or maybe not, given it is CNN, but I'm willing to accept it could just be a miscommunication.

I was thinking someone's auto-correct turned "probar" into "crowbar" and the fact these places don't think or have editors anymore did the rest.
