I see all these posts about Dems building walls and calling in the guard to defend the inauguration... My understanding is that these calls all must come from the POTUS. Biden has hired his OWN private security firm for 1.7+ million dollars.
My question is - what in the hell is going on? Trump is silent on it. No one is really talking about it much. It looks like Iraq in Washington DC and we are supposed to be having an "inauguration" in 4 days. No matter how you cut it, something is fucky here.
So either Trump is securing Biden's inauguration with the military, which doesn't seem likely unless he's now committed to the peaceful transition of power.
Or the troops are there to protect Trump's alternative inauguration. Seems more likely since BLM/Antifa are far more likely to kick off than patriots are.
Or Trump has been sidelined and the military are under control of the swamp and are protecting Biden's inauguration.
Of all options, the last is the most likely. The second is hopium.

From what I've been reading, good. I believe FEMA answers directly to POTUS and with the state of emergency he enacted, they have wide reaching powers, including the power to make arrests.
I'd advise you to look for yourself though, because my brain is a bit mush atm.

If CCP fails to take inauguration, it makes sense their backup plan is to forcibly take DC.
No matter who the president is, they don’t necessarily have the degree of control that you imagine. Even in North Korea, the dictator won’t have the degree of control that you think he does, but in the US with a lot more laws, bureaucratic rules, checks on power, etc, it’s much less and that’s under normal circumstances. With a coup going on, departments could be completely ignoring orders from the POTUS.

Truth. Unprecedented and even if you believed the riot story of DC you wouldn't need 30000 troops. Trump didn't call on his followers to go the the inauguration. Now ID for people LEAVING is even stranger.
The ID for people leaving DC means they didn’t arrest everyone they know who was involved in the capitol incident and are assuming some are still hiding in DC. I suspect some people made off with hard drives and such and they haven’t been arrested yet. So they assume they’re still hiding in DC somewhere, may try to leave. Thus the checkpoints.
