Yeah there's such a minimal benefit to living in a city and that benefit is strictly limited to your ability to be a consumer. Personally I prefer it over suburbs though as they are the absolute worst, almost all downside of a city except crime but with no walkability. Still expensive, tons of traffic, $12 margaritas.

A very strict set of rules that maintains small government. Mandatory gun ownership. Strict & unchanging voting requirements. Anybody who even proposes making speech or gun laws becomes free reign for execution by the people.

If the United States split apart into Communist sections and non-Communist sections, the Communists will just continue chipping away and incrementally taking more and more territory the same way they took the places like California, Oregon, Washington, New York, and the US Federal government. Then you'd need to another secession to split off of the newly Communist locations. Until you're so small they just invade and conquer you outright.
We fight this off now, or we all die later on after we've been separated and defeated in detail.

We need to set ourselves up to be able to coordinate actions against this obvious corruption that doesn't shrink back against pressure. We need people who can think like bad guys without becoming bad guys.
There's a lot of stuff we need to do, but surrendering huge swaths of American soil to Communists is not one that I'm prepared to do. Every inch of American soil stays with us. Dying of Communist gangrene is not in my plans.
