Pence's memo was out an hour or so before Trump hit the stage, but it makes no difference. Trump was hoping Pence would "do the right thing" - still giving his supporters hope, when the Antifa types went to supposedly kill Pence. They had no reason (if they were true Trump supporters) - as we did not know Pence's plan until AFTER the "attack" had occurred.

I understand there could be some that were still clueless about it. Frankly that anyone AT ALL got up that morning thinking Pence was going to do it is testimony to that.

However it was public what Pence had already done (and not done) ahead of the march getting into the Capitol. The joint session was already over, what happened there had been reported, and WTF doesn't have a phone these days to get that info within seconds?

EDIT: There were callouts to "rope" Pence from followers on those crazy video live feeds, right?

there was like a 90% chance Pence was going to do what he did. That was known for weeks. Anyone saying otherwise is living on a hopeium dream of delusions.

Truth. I know Robert Barnes is not well liked around here, but on 1/6 he provided a brief summary of the actions Pence has taken since 2016 that made it clear he's not MAGA and was never even considering not accepting the votes.

well and also if anyone actually thought out the consequences of taking that action....
