I am a retired airline captain for a large US airline. We carry lots of armed LEOs and have a long list of requirements to allow them on. On 9-11 a few years ago, I had a FBI agent show up minutes before departure trying to get on my flight. I can’t tell you the SSI about timing but the minutes wasn’t even 5% of the required time to get cleared. I told him to put his gun in his carryon bag and put it in the baggage compartment. He went into the Don’t you know who I am bullshit and tried to intimidate me and the customer service agents. He ended up not getting on my flight. When I get home I find out the shit has hit the fan and get this... the FBI faggots dad- yes dad- has called the CEO and demanded I be fired. None the less, I had to explain my decision and quote chapter and verse of our manual about the rules of being armed on my jet. I lost the final ounce of respect for those cunts that day.

I flew hornets and elected not to go the airline route like my peers after 10 years. I’m feel bad that the rights of the PIC have degraded and the influence of government has over operations is an overreach. 30 years ago it was an amazing job, going forward I believe that it will never revive its former glory.
