Massive public attention. That's what would happen.

Anyone considering whistleblowing to WikiLeaks would stop instantly because they would no longer be safe.

They wouldn't feel safe because Assange tried to obtain justice for one of his murdered informants? By letting Seth's murder go unavenged, it would make me less likely to be a whistleblower for wikileaks.
