Armed forces total ~2 million. Tooth to tail ratio is probably 10% at most for the wars we’ve been fighting. So 35,000 out of 200,000 fighters is 17.5%. Note that I’m assuming NG, Coast Guard, etc. are included in that 2 mill figure. If not that percentage drops naturally.
