There was an old American flag at my work that was just going to be thrown away. I was in shock as it still looked to be in good shape to me. It is now hanging proudly in my office.
Yep. I found a damaged old flag, just kinda balled up in a bag at work a few months ago. Seeing it, I just said "Nope," stopped what I was doing, unballed it, properly folded it, and got it a clean box to transport it. We know a couple veterans who respectfully retire flags via ceremonial burning.
Because it's not just cloth. It's the symbol of not only everything good that America IS, but everything good it ever WAS and everything good it ever CAN BE.
I remember there used to be commercials for a funeral home that would take flags and have them cremated with a vet. I haven't seen them in a few years though.
The fact is, You do not throw out America Flag. You donate it to someone who will take them in to fix, patch, and make it new again to be put up to fly proudly again.
When my husband and I moved into our first home. My husband found America Flag in horrible condition, we bought it in and folded it and put it in a cardboard box, donated it to someone who will fix it back to brand new for next person who needs a flag.
Throwing out America Flag is dishonor to your country, and if you think it's okay to throw it out, then you don't deserve to be called American. Get the fuck out of our country.
In the Federal government almost all of the lower-level jobs are filled with blacks from SE DC. The high-level exec jobs are slowly getting phased out with foreigners but are still part-White.
This pisses me off. There are two things I honor above all else in the world: the Eucharist and the American flag in that order. It doesnt take much effort to treat either right.
Respect is gone. Once they taught cub scouts how to fold a flag, and in the morning before first class, you had to pledge allegiance to it with hand on heart, unless you were foreign, and even then, it was to be respected.

I was taught when I was young that you are supposed to fold and then burn flags when they are no longer usable. Is that true?
Yes
Just not BLM flags. Those are sacred.
Protocol is to use it as an adult diaper, then burn it.
Fat black govt. employees.
Why do all the people cleaning up have to be black? π
it reminds democrats of the olden days
There are no words....smh. π‘

And if it is beyond repair there are proper ways to handle it. I was a boy scout.
Fucking pissed they fucked up our boy scouts. Every young boy should be taught those basic skills and values.
Pets donβt die either! They go to a family that lives on a farm in the country where they can run free in big green fields!
Just messing with ya... thanks for being a patriot!

I can't help it, my mother raised no fool, and I respect my husband way too much that he served in Air Force. lol
Why is the staff all black?
This is what ballot counters do in the off seasons
cause their real slave masters are the ones who preach "equality"
Soft bigotry of low expectations.

Disgusting.
Thrown in a dumpster. Smh.
Anyone else as surprised as I am by how sloppy and kinda scum-baggy the cleaning staff looks?
You should see DC Metro police.
This makes me cry.
That's a crying shame..

Didn't they just award themselves $25 million of our money for "Capitol Building cleaning supplies?" They couldn't find a few $ to preserve that flag?
I am not even American and would be proud to own an American flag. It is the symbol of freedom worldwide!
It was left by antifa, a Trump supporter wouldn't have left the flag !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like all brown types of people in the picture. Coincidence?
Every Democrat should be in that trash can
The filth infesting our government don't give a shit about our flag, our heritage, or our Republic.
