NEED is always used. NEED is not the issue. Nobody needs a car that goes 200MPH. Nobody needs huge houses, private planes, boats. If I want it and can afford it, I can have it...it’s in the constitution.

If the government can send a man to the moon, then I can send myself. If they can own WMDs and anthrax samples, then so should I. Even if they can’t, I still should.

To be fair, I think the founding fathers would be hesitant to list bioweapons as "arms".

We're a Militia, not a terrorist organization. The last thing we need is for USPS to start sending letters with Anthrax in them. Small doses, so you wouldn't notice until you're dying of cancer.

You reek of tyranny. If it exists, I should be able to have it. If I can have nuclear weapons that can destroy entire planets, I can have a little virus.

Rights do not require a demonstrated need for their exercise.

Britfags like to claim they're free and forward thinking. But it's shit like this that proves they still think like subjects of an all powerful Monarchy because they can't understand wanting something out of their king/queen-given allotment.

It's a fundamental difference in ideology.: "I'm a simple wheat farmer in a 'civilized' nation, I don't need a sword because I'm under the protection of a Lord and he has knights who fight for us" or a little later on "I'm still a farmer and the only thing I have to worry about now is growing food cause our Royal Army patrols the entire country and everything is perfectly safe"

VS

"I'm trying to grow enough produce to allow my family to barely scrape by over winter, and I pray every night that indians won't find us, kill me and my son, rape my wife and steal my daughter and crops."

You’re right about the difference in ideology historically, but Americans are now back to being subjects regardless. When it came to using those guns to protect the franchise, America ultimately pussied out, despite all the talk. The people have grown soft, probably because America is no longer the frontier wilderness you describe, but has itself become a safe country with the Deep State Army patrolling the land.
